Today, the Superior Court finally issued its decision on our challenge to the 1.5% salary deduction for healthcare. Unfortunately, the Court ruled in favor of the State and dismissed all of the complaints filed by the various unions. In short, the Court found that the statute is Constitutional and does not create an illegal parity clause. Our attorneys are analyzing the 167 page decision to determine if there is a basis for appeal.
If so, we will file an appeal with the Appellate Division within 45 days of the entry of the Court's order. We will provide you with a synopsis of the decision and an update tomorrow.
